Winsford Saltmakers' Association was established as a trades union in the mid-nineteenth century and held its meetings at the Brunner Guildhall, Winsford (for whose records 1899-1939 see LOX. 17). Government was by Executive Committee subject to the authority of the half-yearly General Meetings of members. The association changed its name to the Union of Salt, Chemical and Industrial General Workers c1962, and by 1970 had merged with the General and Municipal Workers' Union when most of the records were destroyed (SF Salt) |
